Process

The process can be completed in three simple steps, sometimes even more quickly depending on your situation.

1. Understanding your situation and your options

The first step is often the most difficult, and we understand that. During a free consultation at our Montréal office or in another city in the region, we take the time to review your financial situation and answer your questions. This meeting helps you gain clarity and better understand the legal solutions available when dealing with debt.

Depending on your situation, options may include, among others, a consumer proposal, certain steps related to a cancelled proposal, a proposal under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, or personal bankruptcy. Our role is to inform you, explain the advantages and disadvantages of each option, and help you determine the most appropriate course of action for you, without pressure and at your own pace.

The meeting is confidential, with no obligation, and your employer or anyone in your personal circle will never be contacted.

3. Referral to a licensed trustee or authorized administrator

When the time comes to officially begin a legal process, it must be filed and administered by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee or an administrator, depending on the solution chosen.

Our role is then to guide you toward the professional best suited to your situation.

The A.J.B team has been collaborating for several years with various Licensed Insolvency Trustees and authorized administrators. We can direct you to recognized professionals known for their rigor, professionalism, and human approach.
